Bismaad Gulati

Attitude Control Systems Manager

bismaad_gulatiBismaad Gulati is a bright student who is in the artistically talented and in academically talented programs at Columbus Magnet School. During the few years he’s been in these programs he has maintained good grades. Bismaad has been learning and practicing Tae Kwon Do for last four years and achieved the first degree black belt. He has always looked up to his parents.

Bismaad has always liked trying to make things, some new and some just absurd. Someday, he wants to own a business to call his own. His company would sell a new type of vacuum, called the vacuum shoes – a vacuum powered by your steps.

Throughout the years he has accomplished several goals. He has entered in the science fair and received an honorable mention. One of his greatest accomplishments was he got to be in C in C’s class for 4th grade. Bismaad learns violin in school and is part of the Columbus Orchestra. He has performed in concerts in front of large audiences.

During the week, Bismaad takes Norwalk Tae Kwon Do class, where he is taught by a sixth degree black belt master. He practices kicks, punches, stick- movements with two wooden sticks.

Bismaad has always looked at how his dad is so organized and focused on everything he does. His mom is very good at making food; she doesn’t even need a cook book. One of his other heroes is Oliver Evans; he made the first household accessible refrigerator. If you think about it, let’s just say it’s the day before your son’s birthday and you buy an ice cream cake and there was no refrigerator the day of your son’s birthday, it’ll just be milk with sugar in it. Oliver Evans is a true inspiration.

Bismaad is fortunate to be part of the mission this year. He wants to be in the mission control. He wants to be able to control the rover and see how it works. He is excited to be training for the mission with the Chief.
